NY Gift Fair: Utility Canvas & Juliska Glassware

We thought we had lost Utility Canvas for good. A staple on Sullivan Street for a number of years, the shop disappeared a year or so ago. We discovered last week that the two owners, Hal and Jillian Grano, have retreated to the Hudson Valley with their children and are happily still running their business while maintaining quality of life.

Utility specializes in heavy but soft cotton home products and clothing. The colors are lovely and varied. We particularly like their bedspreads, pillows and bags.

Juliska Glass had a huge booth that was so crammed with product, you could barely appreciate how nice it was. All this glass is made in Prague and is super light and airy. Mixed into a modern environment, it is to die for.

We had never seen their lamps before. You can find some of their collection downtown at Clio, and around town at these stores.
