NY Gift Fair: Woodstock Chimes & Les Papiers Jean Rouget

Woodstock Chimes may be super cheesy looking, but we love chimes and their selection is endless. This is THE source when you're in the chime mood.

Motel Deluxe (45 Main Street, Brooklyn, NY) features this great, colorful collection of French paper from Jean Rouget. We particularly liked the blank menu for staging your own classy dinner parties at home.

an auntie gave me woodstock chimes . . . the tone is lovely and clean, and the objet is best kept out of sight!

I always found chimes annoying until I had these.

I'm not sure what it would take to make me like wind chimes. They kind of bug me; the way they sound and the way they look. Maybe it's the scale of them?

They seem like the kind of thing that, when you're cleaning out your back patio, should be among the first things to go away. And they seem like the kind of thing that you hear slowly at first and then more loudly during the beginning parts of the kind of scary movie that you normally wouldn't go to see, but someone kind of talks you into it, because the gorgeous, sweeping costume drama that you both wanted to see was sold out, and you were determined not to go home without seeing a movie. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what they mean when they say "run-on sentence."

You should hear this thing in a hurricane!
But it's a quality product. Like I said, I hated them too. Before. I still hate other people's...

And Curtis, I like a good run-on that accelerates. Next time go home without seeing a movie. Scary movies are worse than wind chimes! Unless the original Exorcist is playing at the multiplex.

Have you seen the new Wong Kar Wai movie? I haven't yet, but talk about your housewares and textiles . . .

We have a windchime (I think Woodstock) on the front porch. It has nice tones, and sometimes with a constant breeze, we'll get a melody of tones that will repeat several times. That's always pretty cool.

I think there should be a limit of 1 windchime. More than 1 is noise.
