Portico Sells Main Line In Chelsea Market

2004_8_23_portico.jpgPortikea? Portico Home, the super home furniture store from the sizzling 90's seems to have faded a bit, but may be coming back. Featuring more expensive mid priced contemporary furniture in chic dark urban finishes, we have been checking them out at their Chelsea Market location (75 Ninth Ave - just above 15th), where they sell surplus and discontinued items. This is a good place to scoop up good furniture at better prices. We have also bought great soap and natural fiber, big pile bath mats as well.

Word has it that they will be selling their main collection here as well, which makes a ton of sense given the growth of MePa. Hopefully this will not eliminate the sale items anytime soon. OHR

SLOW SERVICE. Portico Home furniture looks good on line and I read the reviews from this site - benign.
Unless you like waiting more than three months for your purchase, you should NOT give this store your business. Maybe those in NY don't have this problem, but any item that is back ordered can be delivered after 90 days after purchase. The customer service was defensive and refused to even consider cancelling the order. Very unsatisfactory service. We are finally getting some answers 4 months after the purchase.....
