Hello, HGTV! If you've got a television and premium cable OR you happen to be on a JetBlue flight, look out for our own Patrick (the other one) on tonight's Small Space, Big Style at 8pm. Design Public has already blogged it.
While our own Anita Lee was on earlier in the week - Inspiration in Close Quarters - generating a whole bunch of emails and a reporter's inquiry, Patrick is ready ahead of time.

Go Patrick Go! Good luck. I'll be home watching as I start baking my Christmas cookies.
A few minutes before showtime, I'm gonna fasten the seatbelts on my club chairs and put my blinders on, because I know it's gonna go by VERY VERY FAST.
Darn, I wish I had cable! Oh well -- lusting after p(too)'s pillows would just depress me.
I tuned in last night just to catch Patrick's apartment. It never fails to amaze me how much different an apartment looks in 3-D. The photos are good; but in 3-D the apartment is (I hate to use the F word)- Fabulous. I think you miss a lot of the nuances and how everything fits and flows together in photos. I wish I had Patrick's eye for putting it all together. Especially since I have been struggling to get my place finally together for several years now. This has been an inspiration to get moving again! Also, I have been hedging about painting at least one part of a wall a brown/black color to balance our my black loveseat and this qives the courage to go ahead. Given everything, I think my goal has become to get my place together enough that I can consider entering it if there is a Smallest, Coolest contest next year.
BTW, I thought in last night's episode the commentary was exceptionally good and for the most part spoke about what works, why, and related ideas. Exactly what I had commented about in my prior, over-opinionated, posts. In contrast to my prior comments, Libby's commentary was predominantly right on target. Libby, please keep it up!

Hey Patrick,
I DVR'd it so I can watch it tonight. Can't wait to see it in 'person' as I'm sure that video highlights it in ways photos can't. I'm really interested in how your experience with HGTV was, as they have asked to film my place too on a new show they are airing in the spring.
From one monochromist to another, great job (again).
Joey--
Thanks!
My experience with the taping was great, but I went into it FULLY prepared for a long day of "hurry up and wait" and having to react quickly (and REact on multiple takes) and that's exactly what the day was like. But producer Yana and host Andrew were GREAT, and kept it all casual and fun. Entire crew was great, and took plenty of time to get stuff right. Keep in mind, it's also in THEIR best interest to make the place and me look good. I think they "got" the space right off, which helped...
And at day's end, they were INCREDIBLY respectful of my stuff (and my partner!), and when they left for the day, not a sign of them was left behind. Except one small wall scuff from a light boom which I have left as a reminder of the great day!
I'd GLADLY do it all again tomorrow. Especially since tomorrow will be cooler than that 90+ day they taped!
So yes, if you have the opportunity, DO IT! TV needs more monochromists! :)
The only catch... crews and producers change by market and show, so your results may vary. :)
JOEY!
Just looked at your pics, and you are THAT amazing color-change-loft Joey!!
Oh you SOOOOOO need to be on HGTV!
And judging by your own pics, you are QUITE camera-ready, mister. ;)
I also have to take a moment to sing the praises of our gracious host and this site... I NEVER would have made it to HGTV had I not seen a segment he did on Mission: Organization, tracked him down, met him, found the blog, became ADDICTED to the blog... had the Smallest/Coolest contest lit the proverbial fire under my ass...
Thank SO MUCH Maxwell and AT!!
P2, unfortunately, I don't have cable, so I wasn't able to see you on SSBS. But I looked at the smallest, coolest photos again, and I'm curious where you got the zebra-patterned stool/ottoman with the metal x-legs that is under the table next to your bed? The base looks like something from Flexform that I've been eyeing.
m--
Yes, Flexform! (Give that letter a prize!)
A splurge purchase, I got it from the great and gorgeous store Repertoire in SoHo, but I believe also at M2L.
P2, Thanks for confirming. It is a nice piece, but Flexform is probably too expensive for me.
patrick-I missed the SSBS episode but your place looks amazing in the pics. Love the use of texture/pattern.
I do have a question for JOEY-who makes the wall lights in the background of the pic with you in it?? It looks like they are light boxes...I really enjoy them!
Michael-
You can still catch his apartment. It's episode #113 in there listings and they re-broadcast it several times this weekend. Try this:

It's worth making an appointment with your TV. Set an alarm clock or something.
Hey Michael,
I make the wall lights in the background of the pic with me in it ;) I actually did a significant amount of the work in the loft, and did all the lighting design/installation myself. If you look at the other photos you will see the construction progress. It is a basic lightbox construction, the only changes are that it's a grid instead of one box, and the vertical elements are notched to hold shelf standards. If you check out the pictures I uploaded tonight, you will the the lil Chrismtas display I have it set to. The glass shelves can be repositioned anywhere on the grid.
The current lightwall replaces the old shelves that had the vertical columns of light on them. I like this way a lot better.
Patrick thank you for all the compliments. I admire your place so much and keep looking for ways to make my place look sophisticated and classy like your as well as Vegas and flashy like mine already is. I look to your ideas for inspiration.
I too have to give a shout-out to Maxwell and the AT team. This site was a MAJOR resource for me during my construction, and a CONSTANT welcome productivity killer at work ;)
