It's not exactly beach weather.... 
but New York's beaches open today! All 14 miles of them. NY1 reports that workers are busy raking the sand, and yesterday Mayor Bloomberg unveiled four new performance pavillions at Coney Island. The beaches may be a long way from Fiji, but they're ours.
