apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Thanks For Coming Out Last Night!

Last night we once again crossed the Rubicon, going LIVE from ONLINE and the resuts were.... terrific. While things started calmly enough, the main room at DWR Tribeca was packed at 8:15 and close to 200 people came through during the course of the night.

It was particularly fun to meet AT people for the first time and then try to figure out their online names. Heated discussions swirled around WHICH types of people capitalize the letter of their name and which don't.

Sharon wins!
A highlight to the evening was when Sharon Crenson won the big raffle prize. After her amazing wet dreamy experience with HGTV, her scandalous post last week, her luck just kept rolling.

Fiona, Sharon & jamie pup
Among others we chatted with: Fiona, Sharon Crenson, Patrick, jimkk, jamie pup, robyn ryan, Cedric (The Bachelor Pad) and Curtis. We also met Cornell, who started Atlantico, Denyse Schmidt of Denyse Schmidt of Denyse Schmidt Quilts and Bart Quillen of Prague Kolectiv, and got to hang out with Rob Goughary of DWR Soho and Carie Scott of DWR Brooklyn Heights who came down to see the crowd and hang out.

Man... Looks like a load of fun was had by all... Sorry I missed it, but duty was calling.

Thanks, Maxwell, for the party. It was really fun to meet all the people behind the user names (both capitalized and lower-case). It was a pleasure to chat with some of my favorite AT people, and everyone was even nicer than I imagined.

Very fun, indeed!

Fiona is just all-around LOVELY. "rr" is hysterical. Lucky toaster Sharon is a an elegant delight. jimkk has a devilish twinkle to his eye. jamie pup is as charming as ever, basking in the glow of his inset-shelving how-to. All pretty much as we expected!

And Maxwell's streamlined look works just as well in person as it does on TV. Nice surprise to see matinee-idol-handsome Rob from the SoHo DWR. Glad there are no DWR turf wars. :)

Great to meet fellow-RISD alum Denyse Schmidt, with eyes as gorgeous as her quilts.

Just sorry I missed the opportunity to talk Cedric into letting me consult on furnishing his apartment. (shameless plug)

Oh, and we learned lots of interesting tidbits about creating fake meat, pork and fat from the always hilarious Curtis. Don't ask. ;)

But, OH... but we missed Sara Kate and eagerly await her food blog...

Lest I be remiss, my thanks as well to Maxwell & DWR for throwing a swell party for the AT Re-Launch. It was great to meet and chat with so many of the faces behind the names. Until next time.

Patrick the fancy other one. Haaaaaaaa. I too want to thank AT & DWR. It was fun & interesting to meet people whose apartments I've already toured and whose comments and commentary have entertained me for the last year or so since I found this site.

Sharon, if you're reading this, it was lovely to meet you. Patrick the fancy and Curtis, sorry we were staring and talking about you. We were saying only flattering things, I am a big fan of your posts and Sharon was just pointing you out. I meant to come over and say hi but, I was feeling shy, then after the prize give away the husband was getting too hungry and had to be whisked off to dinner before grumpy-ness ensued.

I had a blast! Would have loved to have met many other posters, but enjoyed the first couple of clusters I met entirely too much to tear myself away. Fiona, jimkk, rr, sharon (and mr. sharon), jamie pup, p2 and Maxwell, himself and his brother Oliver were the ones that I managed to speak to.

It was a real nice clambake!
