Yay, How exciting! And I think a long needed addition.

But the real question is, of course, when is AT coming to Boston???

The other real question is, when is AT coming to DC, and how will it (and Boston) fit on the navigation bar at the top? :-)

Great blog! I like the AT and design slant on consumer electronics.

The REAL real question is, will AT's energy get too dissipated with all these offshoots? I want an AT Seattle, but I notice that the Chicago, LA, and SF sites are very lightly trafficked compared to NY. I wonder whether this is a case of "be careful what you ask for."

What happened to the proper forum software?
What happened to losing the need for entering the 6 digit code?

They're busy!
What do you think is happening?

Speaking of new sections... when is Seattle being added? (Pretty please?)

Very good questions! New comments without security codes is done and coming in about a week.

Forums are still in the works.

As for city vs. subject sites. we've finished for right now and want to see which proves to be the most useful and grow the best.

Personally, I think there's a good argument for both, but need to see it proven. If so, we'll progress with more cities and more subjects (all of which we have in mind and are dying to make happen).

We're still in the "if you come, we'll build it" stage, so we're going a bit slowly (but surely).

as for fitting them into the header....just wait until you see the redesign in about 3 months.....

Oh, no! I love the header especially ATSF's color.
Don't change a hair for me...

I hope that the following will come across as helpful critique.

I love AT and know that a lot of hard work went into creating this new section, but....

OK I'm just going to say it: I'm disappointed in the content of AT Home Tech so far.

The posts during the editor tryout period offered lots of useful information plus product reviews highlighting pros and cons of an item. But the Tech posts I've read so far are light on facts and read more like advertising blurbs from a sales catalogue.

Perhaps that's why reader response to the posts have been relatively light.

What happened? Anyone else have the same reaction?

You know what my dream AT would look like? One central non-place based site with all the product reviews, house tours, good questions, contests, etc... that are totally non-dependent on where in the world you live. Then smaller sites for whatever regions/cities that have ONLY material specific to their area (which I think would make expansion much easier because you would only have to get people to cover place-specific stuff).
Just the dreams on one AT lover and usual lurker.

Jennifer--

Right. I spend a lot of time as it is checking the other AT sites to see the non-place based stuff. I'm not sure it makes sense to replicate AT in toto for each city.
