We're very excited about the new column that Matt is creating here at AT; the only problem is, we don't have a name for it yet. We have a few ideas, but nothing seems quite right (to us).
We would like your opinion.
The column is going to focus on FLOWERS for the home:
- Where to find them (florists and resource reviews)
- What you should know about them (tips and instructions) and
- Inspiration from around the city (whatever moves Matt)
Below are the names we have. Please tell us which one you like best and/or suggest a better idea. Thanks so much! MGR

here are some other ideas....
petal pushers, blooming idiots
I like Petal Pushers too.
Blossom Blurb?
Vase Space?
Will this new feature includes houseplants in general or be just flowers?
Shoots and Roots
Urban Roots (if you're talking plants)
Urban Shoots (if you're talking flowers)
Urban Jungle
Perfect Petals
Urban Foliage
Apartment Foliage
Vase Visions
hmmm -- PlantTherapy is starting to sound real good!
How about Plant Page? You kind of have to be a Led Zeppelin fan to appreciate this one.
How about "Bloom Where You Are"
I like Plant Page, or how about Floral Finder?
Just Bloom It!
How about "Bloom Boom"?
Deflowered. De-Flower. De/Flower. DeFlower. Um, er... something like that.
In your vase
The flowerbox inside
the urban garden
for simplicity: flower power
a la flower carte
How about we stick with the theme, and go with:
GreenTherapy
BloomTherapy
Floratherapy
Indoor Green
Bring in the Green
Smelly Roses
Something growing in my apt
Grow This
Something leafy this way grows
indoor eden
What about flora and fauna and then you could use it as a pet section too - i.e., how to make a space saving dog bed.
I like Urban Roots or Urban Green...
i've been hoping for the longest time that AT would introduce a column on houseplants. not that there's anything wrong w/ cut flowers--i love fresh flowers & there's no substitute for them--but i think some houseplant advice first would be a lot more helpful for people on a limited budget.
Floral Plans (like 'floor plans'...too much of a stretch?)
Flowery Bowery (too specific), Room Blooms, Suite Smell.
I'll stop now.
I like "floratherapy"
Get into Bloom
apartment greenery
from the above I like:
urban jungle
indoor eden
urban roots
from the 'therapy' category I like:
floratherapy
greentherapy
Although in my mind the therapy ones would be more appropriate for a sister website to this one, addressing plant/flower issues, rather than a column within the apartment therapy website.
I really like the green thumb/ass one, but I guess it isn't that popular.
If you went with "floratherapy", then, if you EVER did anything about pets (in apartments, methinx it would include cats, yappy little lappy dogs, goldfish -- see that Bachelor pad from the Smallest, Coolest Apartment Contest -- and birds), you could call that "faunatherapy"; if you did anything regular about bathrooms and/or swimming pools and/or water features in gardens "hydrotherapy".
Gee, I have to go with PTOO and vote for "In Your Vase"!
I think In Your Vase is the funniest, but I think FloraTherapy is the best.
I vote for Green Therapy
Flower Therapy
fancy-plants
foliage green [soilent green, like]
im-plants
the best laid plants
all according to plants
flower of darkness [hour]
garden variety
I'm friends with a florist near my place on University Place. Every time I drop by to chat with him, he melts my ear off complaining about how he can't find someone who can learn the business well enough to help him manage the store.
Please help me make him stop, because his complaints are driving me insane.
If you know anyone who wants to learn how to run a Manhattan flower shop from a real pro and a really nice guy, with the goal of eventually managing the store, I'd love to get them in the same room to talk.
