Jenny Lind Crib

2004_7_jenny lind crib.jpgBest in Show. We have been working with a lot of couples having their first baby/ies lately, and have seen many, many cribs. Our current favorite for its beauty, lightness and low price is the Jenny Lind Crib in white.

Named after the famous Swedish Singer, nicknamed "The Swedish Nightingale," who toured with P.T. Barnum in 1850 and created a craze similar to Beatlemania, Jenny Lind had many things named after her, including a railway locomotive.

Today the Jenny Lind crib is made by many different companies at prices that range from $100 to $300, but most run around $150. They are classic, simple and highly praised cribs that have been around forever. Want a good, non-expensive solution? This is it. MGR

A word of advice -- just found out that Land of Nod's Jenny Lind is manufactured by Million Dollar Baby (also make DaVinci's line). For an additional $130 above the more typical $199 price tag, LoN provides an additional "distressing" finish. How very lame!

On a side note, the Jenny Lind we purchased from Million Dollar Baby (via Baby's R Us) arrived damaged (stripped screw hole), and the company has been totally unresponsive in resolving our problem. We had to return to the retailer and re-order.
