October NY Design Meetup: Wes Green's Lexie Lew Pet Collection

Product: Lexie Lew Pet Beds and Pillows

Upgrading pet products to suit your home. Wes Green had a problem. He had a stylish home, but his dog bed looked just awful and he couldn't find many alternatives. So he set about to design and manufacture a line of pet beds with chic fabrics that coordinate with a line of pillows and fit into your home. The result was the mix'n match Lexie Lew line...

- Round & Rectangular Beds
- %100 Cotton Fabrics
- $120-$165

1. Built-in burrowing pockets. For dogs— big or small— who like to sleep under blankets. If your pal prefers to sleep au naturel, then you don't even need to know the pocket is there.

2. Machine washable, inside and out. Zip off the cover and wash it alone. Or throw the whole thing into the washing machine (on gentle or delicate cycle!) and dry well on a low setting.

3. These cool 100% cotton prints. Choose from one of the following fabrics.

- Throw Pillows
- %100 Cotton fabrics
- $35

Buy the throw pillows alone or with a pet bed. Have them match exactly. Or mix and match them. The combinations are up to you. And just like the beds these pillows can be tossed into the washing machine (on gentle, of course). (18” x 18”)

These are cute! And they look really simple to make yourself. I made a new cover for an old dog bed once and it was super easy (although mine did not include a "burrowing pocket", ha!) Is it too matchy-matchy to coordinate a dog bed with throw pillows? Thanks for the project idea!

Anything that must be "washed on gentle" is likely not gonna work out too well as a doggie bed.

Hi, It's Wes, the owner of Lexie Lew.
I want to comment on the "wash on gentle" comment. The beds actually hold up very well and were "tested" extensively by my two dogs before the products ever went on the market. The washing instructions are recommended just to make sure no extra wear-and-tear is added to the fabric. The items can be washed on a regular cycle if preferred.

Hmmm...ok, I'll buy that. I have heard that washing can degrade the durability of fabric over time.
My Westie is really aggressive with his doggie beds lol...

I think I'll have to get a couple of the black & white patterned pillows for myself. I've been looking for some great floor pillows. I don't have a dog. I have a cat.

These are beautiful. I wish they made beds with sides. My dog loves the foam walls around him, and I haven't found any stylish beds like that. I ended up making my own, which turned out well, but took an entire day.
