Dept. of Hospitality. Sent to us by a reader, LB Furniture is a company up in Hudson NY, that specializes "in dining, banquet, conference, function room and common area seating environments." Which is to say...hospitality seating.
But what an amazing selection they have! If you are looking for classic designs, LB Furniture has a slew of wood chairs that have that trendy look that is just to the right of being institutional. Looking through their catalog is like looking at a history of seating since WWII. We think this is a great resource for those of you out there that are getting "directional."
Yes, thank you Ruth! Dining room chairs are so fricking expensive--even the ho-hum ones at Crate & Barrel will set you back $300-400. Times eight chairs--that's a lot of moolah.
I wish I could totally claim credit but I was doing some research and got pointed in their direction by the fine folks at NY Design Center. (Thanks, Lisa!) But they do seem to be a great resource, esp. when you think that they're not that expensive and I would assume they're going to be much tougher than anything from C&B or PB would be.
I am looking for banquet-style gold or silver faux bamboo chairs with velvet seat cushions. No joy.
If anyone has a source which delivers outside NYC, please tip me off.
this company is really cool, they're the same folk that were featured in the NY Post for pulling a prank on the Boston Red Sox -- apparently most of the guys in the factory are Yankees fans, and when they got an order for chairs for a new brew pub opening up near Fenway, all the guys got together and put stickes on the bottom of each chair that reads "Made in Hudson New York by New York Yankee Fans"
now, i guess if you're a Red Sox fan, this might make you think twice about ordering, but then again, that would be pretty sad

I know about this company and they are leading edge in design, customer service and products that say WOW!!! The fact that they are Yankee fans should not deter you from buying from them, because I am a Red Sox Fan. It is great to know that the Yankee fans so appreciate of Red Sox fans that they make seats for us - and a first class LB seat no less!!
