NY Scavenger: Vintage Industrial Bookcase for $500

at4835e9ad227de7.54835578.jpgThis super-cool modern, vintage industrial bookcase is a terrific find. It's technically a "General Fireproofing (4-tier) Metal, Stacking Barrister [or] Lawyer's Bookcase," as you probably can tell. The battleship green/grey color is vintage fabulous, and we love the sealed glass doors. It looks like it'd hold a ton of stuff, too, especially with the extra 2 inches on the bottom shelf for those pesky oversize books that never quite seem to fit anywhere. This is a hot piece, so act quickly! The seller is moving soon and is willing to accept best offer!

That barrister's bookcase is beautiful. I've been looking at them for a while now. Is it just me, or does that price seem a little steep, though?

No, actually, the price sounds reasonable. That's how much they cost on eBay, plus about $200 for shipping/delivery. L.A. has a couple of dealers/retailers who sell these for at least 4 times as much. I wish I lived close enough to buy them.

I want a barrister bookcase, too bad I don't need one.
