“Weeping willow” 1970’s Italian amber glass drop chandelier for the entry. Just sign on, plop down yer $4500.00 and it’s yours.

Far too pricy for my blood. Give me egalitarian design over uber-design.
i subscribe to 1st dibs they email new arrivals. i use 1st dibs as an to learn more about designers and their works.
1st Dibs has the latest and the greatest right at ones fingertips. The site is user friendly and the prices match the quality of the items!!
Will shop there again!!
1stdibs are a bunch of wannabe furniture afficionados who don't know %%$^ in all reality. the owner especially doesn't know the business and is a cheat and a liar! you can forward this to him.
1st Dibs is for people who dont care about buying real or fake items. they do not know the differnece. buyer beware!
wow what a bunch of whiners...1stdibs doesn't own any of the merchandise presented. They represent dealers all over the country and Paris. People should get an education before they say stupid, wrong things. I say, "let the reader beware!"
why does alexei feel so contentios to other people posting? are you a spy? why do you feel the need to defend?
I think this is a reasonable way to see what is coming onto the market, then being patient and bidding on it on eBay if it is something you want. You may need to have it restored, but you will still get the same things for a fraction of the price. If I disagree on the designer or maker they are listing...I email them about it.
I guess this is addressed to 'theone': I don't feel 'contentious' (sorry for spelling it right) - I am not into that kind of false flaming that's all. I know that 1stdibs is a site representing many, many stores. It is not a store as apt therapy lists it. It is a marketplace. So if you have something factual to say, then say it, and don't bother assuming how I feel. This is the web, not Dr Phil.
i did say something factual in my first post. you (alexei) just like to nit pick. sorry for the typo.
1stdibs is ONLY a web site that allows antique dealers from around the world to post their goods on one site. It does not "sell" anything or make any claims as to whether or not the items are "real" or "fake". That is the responsibility of the buyer to find out just as if they walked into one of these stores and saw the same item in person and wanted to buy it.
FYI I am a Designer and not in any way affiliated with 1stdibs before you try to dispute your comical ignorance with that claim. But thanks for the laugh! Here's a tip. Don't buy any Antiques without consulting a professional, in fact you should probably stay away from buying any furniture or decorative items at all on your own...clearly a disaster waiting to happen.
Theone....get some help.
Quick

Cool stuff! I visited the store. Very nice lighting... wish the colors were a little Bolder... For everyone checkout this store!
thanks M. will you help me?
Sorry unfortunately we have a waiting list for clients and we do have a “no cantankerous addle brained client” clause that would prevent us from taking you on. Here is a little tip though perhaps you might consider thinking before you speak? Or if that’s too taxing just don’t speak at all?
Cheers!
wow. m needs a hug. i have had unfortunate experiences with customer service at 1stdibs and kind of agree about the cheat comment. 'tis too bad.
I use 1stdibs everyday for my business and can't imaging not having it.
I have bought many things from them in Paris and have found their customer support to be very responsive, try getting someone from e bay or google get abck to you. In my opinion 1stdibs rocks.

Thanks Srg, Don't need a hug... just think theone is funny in an annoying way.
I guess I just don't understand where the cheating comes in?
All of the dealers/stores charge one price for the public and one for the trade. The trade price is usually anywhere from 10-25% less than the public price. I deal with the stores directly as I am in the trade and then we chrage a fee for our service which is the norm. The only difference the public has in dealing with 1stdibs is that A. either you would pay full price to the dealer/store itself, or B. take advantage of the trade discount 1stdibs offers you and pay their fee for the service. That's just the way it works...
I have had clients check the prices on items we found them here just to see what their pricing would be as civilians and it's just about the same.
Anyway...happy hunting. Good luck with any purchases!
To Alexi, Theone, M and any others posting. What happened to personal responsibility? Granted, the public needs to know about liars and cheats, but shouldn't the Better Business Bureau be made aware? Simply 'disliking' someone or the product, in my opinion, means that the buyer didn't do enough research or take personal responsibility to find out, gather information, be honest, negotiate and follow up.
It seems to me that the web creates laziness on both the buyer and the seller. Customer service has been diminished, professional and knowlegable sales people do not exist, and tangible relationships between the customer, product and seller cause these types of personal attacks.
