Super cool. Some people just have design sense..... and they are crunchy too. Argington came in through the door this week and we not only like their children's furniture, we like their font, their colors and their schtick.

Argington is a brand new BROOKLYN BASED company run by Jenny Argie. The collection has seven pieces right now made of select hardwoods with durable, nontoxic, ecologically friendly finishes and 100% cotton fabrics. Organic all the way. There are benches, tables, two highchairs and a sleigh, which is just plain whimsical.
Prices run high - but, hey, this is handcrafted! - so the adjustable Babylon high chair is $260, the Artemis rocker is $205, and the Hali sleigh is $1,350. Do I hear "baby registry"? Available online from Argington within weeks, and over the phone immediately.

It's beautiful furniture and my husband and I were considering buying Argington's trundle bed when our parents offered to buy them. But personally I don't think it's worth spending that kind of money on the kids furniture when they'll be growing out of it. The kids will be fine with Ikea furniture beds, a fraction of the cost and very attractive. We got a simple twin bed from Ikea which isn't in the kids department. It's found where they display the mattresses. Also, his bureau, from Ikea, is found in the free-standing kitchen area. I don't remember the names, sorry. The kitchen bureau has translucent plastic drawers, caster wheels and white frame with silver trim. We got two, put them together and it's very mondern looking.

I have no kids myself - and have no intent of changing that - but I would like to add that Room and Board also has very attractive pieces for children. I think as an added benefit to R&B is that while their furniture may be appropriately styled for children, they are something that is quality enough to last beyond childhood and still be something your kids can take with them when they are older.
