Yes, losing the NY outpost of this new and highly approachable genre of galleries/dealers was a real loss.
But they DO make regular stateside appearances at the local art and photography shows.
Their range is affordable for fine art. But it still IS fine art, so expect to get the checkbook out.
I believe they are associated with britart.com, which has a higher price range, but the work there seems to be smaller editions, higher-end artists. There's a portriat of David Beckham made from communion hosts that I sooooooooo want.
...and former NY employee Michael Hall was a great and knowledgeable resource. Wonder where he ended up when they closed in NYC?
p(too): Sweet tip on britart! Seems like the George Toth oil paintings would be right up AT-ers' alley. Did you see the Stephen Morgan boxer portraits? Me, I'm digging John Angerson's portrait of Shane McGowan with the beer bottle in the foreground.
