2005_9_12_garnet4.gifGrass fed up in New Hampshire, Garnet Hill used to be much more distinctive than it now is, offering only natural fiber bedding and clothing with a slightly European edge.

2005_9_12_garnet2.jpgIn the past five years, it has grown and, now, far too closely resembles a host of other catalog sources.

Nevertheless, it is still a good place to check in when looking for high quality natural fiber sheets, towels, duvets, blankets and even rugs.

2005_9_12_garnet3.jpgWe like their cozy collection of wool, alpaca and cotton blankets ($60-$130), their Flannel Bedding ($30-$120), and their boiled wool slippers ($48) for tromping around the house.

Epinions says: Garnet Hill is like a gem, beautiful and expensive.

Garnet Hill is great, and although they may resemble other catalogs, the sheets they offer can't be found too many other places. Their catalogs are beautiful, online ordering a breeze, shipping is fast, and they have good sales. They also have an interesting smattering of accent furniture an accessories.

They also are one of the few bedding purveyors that have not neglected those seeking more masculine bedding alternatives.

I've always loved garnet hill, but in the last few years I have noticed a major deciline in my opinion.

I agree about their decline. Also, the quality is not what it once was...The buttons on the duvet cover I bought all fell off after 6 months! :(

I have found that Garnet Hill seems to be focusing more on the clothes than on the variety and quality of their linens. They are taking less risks and seem rather mundane like Crate & Barrel. Hopefully not on their way to West Point Stevens.

I've noticed a decline in overall style at Garnet Hill. The clothes used to be hip, featuring conteporary designers like Margaret O'Leary, ISDA, etc., now their stuff looks more like Lands End. This year's fall catalogue contains the same Eileen Fisher merchandise from last fall, at full price. Nothing from the new fall line. But the sheets are still nice. Wonder where they wil go from here . . .

Although expensive, the quality of the flannel sheets we got from G-H is superb. Better than Company Store, Pottery Barn, LL Bean, or Domestications (ugh!). The patterns are distinctive too.

The price premium is worth it....
