Never before has plastic looked so good. We recieved an email today, tipping us off to Plushpod, and since we were dragging with the heat and humidity we were easily distracted and checked it out.
Plushpod is cool. Based in Venice, CA, it is yet another new modern furniture outfit (as opposed to retro, vintage or mid-century modern), that has put together a sexy collection of furniture and home accessories. Their look is decidedly 70's Jetson Modern, with smooth white egg chairs (Eero Aarnio '62) for $4,000 as well as the whole current line of Blu Dot shelves and tables. Our reporter says:
I recently saw your link to SPACIFY...
I came across another store called PlushPod, which seems to carry some of the same stuff (e.g. shelving units) as SPACIFY, but at considerably lower prices. Jane
She is right on here. We looked at prices and found Plushpod was roughly 20% cheaper on comparable items. And they have a much nicer website. You will find most furniture (no beds), some wild lighting and a fun supply of children's furniture. Problems? Plushpod ranges deep into design only territory, with practicality often left behind. It makes them interesting, but also a little bit silly (read trendy) at times. This is furniture as fashion. MGR

Got some fantastically FUNKY furniture from UK furniture makers: www.meliadesign.co.uk.
Forget fashion... this is furniture as ART!
Their Pants table is out of this world, never seen anything like it before. I just got mine last week and I'm thrilled with it. Having a PANTS party next week to show all my friends!
So now I'm saving up for my next piece... i drawers. I have stuff from Plushpod and they are great - good prices nice range.
But nothing like the melia furniture. They are so helpful. My pants coffee table was custom made in walnut and white and you can choose any colours you want. So the only thing to decide now is what colour I want my drawers!!
