There are many services that offer to sell your belongings for you, but the newcomer to the field is Portero, a NY region company that touts its selection as "luxury" only, but only draws the line at items valued under $100.
Here's how it works: you call them up if you have the stuff they take - a pretty wide selection with a heavy dose of fashion items - and they send out an "expert" who values your belongings and schedules a pickup. After they come and take it all away, they expertly photograph it and throw it up on eBay (they're a Power Seller).
You get the proceeds minus $20 processing and 30% fee.
We saw some nice furniture in their "fine housewares" section, such as a Baker cherry four poster bed at $100 with 5 hours left to go, and a Pace Collection black leather armchair and ottoman at $20 with 1 day to go. (via Daily Candy) MGR
