To the Trade. A friend is getting help with her apartment and tipped us off to this great resource: Treadway/Toomey Galleries. Two cooperative auction houses with one website, Treadway/Toomey has a long list of unsold lots on their website that are available and need only a credit card for purchase.
While there are many paintings and traditionally heavy stuff, there is also Mid-Century Modern, Stickley, Arts & Crafts, Prarie School, and French. And prices are not bad.
For example, the storage cabinet above goes for $1,500, Eames DCM chairs go for $250 pr, an Edward Wormley cabinet for $850, and a Saarinen large pedestal table rounds out at $600. (Thanks, Charlotte!) MGR
