2004_9_7_urban4.jpgCommon uncommon. There are many modern furnishings stores online, but few of them have the distinct style and flair of Urban Peel. Based in Chicago, this collective of designers, artists and (of course) marketers, hopes to corner the market on hard to find design from across a broad spectrum and are not afraid to sell $4,000 hammocks with $19 Tea Lollipops. The only requirement: nothing common and no crap. Lets say Hammacher Schlemmer crossed with Moss.

You will find food, furnishings, lighting, bedding, accessories, dinnerware, pet products, games.... It is an eclectic mix, perfect for gift giving if that is your need, and perfect for totally entertaining window shopping.

Everything is extemely well chosen from international designers and houses including SUCK UK, Ross Lovegrove, and Marcel Wanders for Mooi. We particularly liked the Tray Table ($795), the Fish Bowl ($1,100), and the AVL Shaker Chair ($600). MGR

I ordered a lampshade from them 2 months ago and never heard anything. I received the order confirmation but nothing ever arrived. I have since left 2 voice messages and sent 2 emails inquiring about my order and have had no response. Luckily my Amex was not charged. I would NOT recommend Urbanpeel--- if it's this hard to buy something from them, imagine trying to return it!

Same story here - Ordered something from them and have never received it. Called, e-mailed. Nothing. Unfortunately, they have charged my credit card for the item.

Don't order from this company. They are unresponsive and don't deliver.

This seems to be the be the norm for new store, epecially in the home furnishings. They have the attitude that they are above calling people back and explaining to people ANYTHING, if you do get a hold of someone they lie and day that they will call you back.
It disgusting that businesses are allowed to thrive when they lack the basic function of business,

I've had the exact same problem as the people above. I ordered something from their site as a XMas present for a friend, UrbanPeel charged my credit card and never delivered the product. They have also not responded to any of my emails, and do not answer their phone.

I'm now trying to figure out what recourse, if any, I have against this company. But for anybody else out there, don't repeat my mistake. Get whatever you need from a different company - this one is a joke.

Same story here - my wife ordered 3 items, 2 showed up & can't get them to respond to phone calls or emails. Just called the Better Business Bureau & my credit card company to get a credit. Don't order from these clowns.
