Thanks... glad to be here! I am reading the book and decluttering. Have gotten rid of about 10 small boxes of stuff so far, plus a TV and floor lamp. And it continues. Is anyone else reading the book right now?

Does keeping it in the nightstand and dipping into it regularly count?
Apartment Therapy, Dodd & Graham's Security Analysis, and whatever magazines just arrived (why exactly do I get Wine Enthusiast? even their subscription department was baffled)... the three pillars of civilized living.

Hello hello! Does anyone know where to get one of those grocery shopping bags that are thick woven material, think baskets with fabric lining and a leather (or leather alternative) handle that's just big enough to go over my shoulder? i'm dying for one!

hi.
anyone know of a reliable handyman/contractor who does good work, and is willing to take a small job (some sheetrocking/spackling in a small bathroom?)
thanks.

Interesting article in today's WSJ's Weekend Journal section called "Design by Committee". Includes a mention of AT!

Wende: I have a similar problem with Wired. Turns out I was comped, but no one can figure out by whom.

Wende,
I had the AT book on my nightstand too for a while. But I had too much stuff next to my bed and as part of a mini-cure (perhaps inspired by a post about nightstands here on AT) I moved the book and other stuff out of the bedroom.
Dodd and Graham too? Guess it could come in handy when you need to battle insomnia...

JonathanB -- Yes, that's what I was told, too. A comped subscription... but if there's anyone who knows my current address and knows my exact level of interest/ignorance with regard to vino and has access to that kind of comping opportunity, this person is living a life of mystery, as I sure can't identify him/her.
Gekko -- Has to be Dodd & Graham, as Mandelbrot on irrational markets is way, way too exciting.

Wende -- I used to cover marketing communications when I was a reporter. As a MBA student, you are in a desirable target market. My comps are either lingering from that old career or come through various media organizations I belong to as a "perk". When Maxwell revises his book, I'm going to suggest a couple of paragraphs about useful, if violent, things one can do with a comp subscription.

Hey Wende,
I think that counts!

Hey, betsbillabong -- stroll on over to the Book Blog (link on the right near the top), look at the "Spring Graduation" post, and click on the link to the Apartment Therapy Cure Flickr thread that's sort of the "home" of Curers between official Cures. You'll be made welcome, and you'll meet a lot of interesting people!

hey smallcitybeth, thanks a lot! it's good to see there are other folks doing the cure.
i have a question for everyone out there: i have 2-3 bottles of vitamins that i keep in my bedroom so i can remember to take daily multivitamin, etc. but they're so ugly. i could just find cute little bottles and label them myself... but i'm not sure where to find cute little bottles. any ideas? or other solutions?
thanks!
bb

first of all, vitamins stay longer in the fridge or any other dark cold place.
I have one of those multi-section trays with the lid of each section labeled for a day of week. The vitamins for the week go in there, and I don't have to deal with bottles every day. It might look better than a collection of bottles.

I would love to find beautiful versions of the standard weekly pill trays. The drug store versions are rather ugly. Anyone know of where I could get some attractive plastic alternatives? Or some (probably pricey, but that's okay!) pill boxes (with separate openings for each day of the week) made out of glass, or wood, or ..?

BetsB - If you take small bottles headed for the recycling, and peel the label off you have a simple clear glass bottle. eg Trader Joe makes a yummy bruschetta mix that comes in a square glass bottle with a black lid. Take the label off and its a pretty basic bottle. And the bonus is eating the bruschetta :-)
use different bottles for each pill, or label the bottom if you might forget.
