has anyone worked with blowing cellulose - old newspaper, etc- into wall and ceiling cavities?

Hello all,
I am in the process of gutting and expanding my tiny galley kitchen. Since I am knocking out a wall and losing precious cabinet space I decided to omit installing a dishwasher.
Now, everyone is on my case letting me know I'm making a huge mistake and hampering the resale value of the apartment. So I've redesigned the kitchen to allow for an 18" built-in dishwasher. Unfortunately there is not much available, and the ones within my price range have awful reviews.
It seems that my only options are the Avanti ($350), Haier ($360), and GE ($570). Bosh and Miele seem to make reputable ones but the $1000 cost is prohibitive.
Does anyone have any experience with the above dishwashers or any other recommendations?
Thanks!

The AIDS Walk NY is approaching in a few more days on 5/20 and I've been a bit remiss in not posting a big thank you to Patrick(too) and Enrique for their generous donations sponsoring me. I haven't been able to locate your direct emails from the old threads, so... Thank you!
I've already surpassed my admittedly modest goal, but if there is anyone else from Apartment Therapy who would like to sponsor me for the AIDS Walk NY with a donation here is the info I posted earlier with Maxwell's permission:
Just click on the website address below to enter my personalized web page at the official AIDS Walk NY website and charge your donation. Thank you, in advance, for supporting this important cause

Hi all,
We are finally (FINALLY!) in the market for some new living room furniture. A new sofa or two loveseats is on the top of the list.
Does anyone know of good, stylin' furniture resources in the Montreal area? Alternatively, stores that will ship here would be considered too.
(I hope you'll forgive this Montreal-centric question on the New York site, but I see alot of my fellow locals hang out here...)
Thanks!

Blown Insulation: I used it a number of years ago in a previous home. It was installed by the prior owner of this house. All were professionally installed. Never a complaint on my part. Alice

nathalie,
We bought a 17 or 18 inch General Electric (GE) dishwasher around 4 months ago that cost about $350. I'm very pleased with it. The dishes come out quite clean, although sometimes they are still a bit wet.
It fits more dishes and gets them cleaner than the Kenmore that we replaced. We had the Kenmore for 7 years and it did a reasonably good job. The cup bottoms came out drier in the Kenmore, but overall, I like the GE better.

My pleasure.

Have you picked up an issue of Canadian House and Home? I regularly salivate over some of the Canadian sources up there.
And speaking of Canadian furniture, a reminder that the boys at Gus* Modern here in NYC are offering a 10% discount on upholstered furniture for AT readers until (I think) May 15th.

patrick-- Thanks, I do buy it regularly, though the brick and mortar shops tend to be Toronto- or Vancouver-centric. Not too shabby design-wise though, eh?
