We have search! I love that you can search all the sites from the MAIN page, or restrict your search by a specific city.

Are the gift bag giveaway winners being announced on the NY page? I can't seem to find anything other than the giveaway entries themselves. The Kitchen announced at least 2 winners already. Just curious...

Yes, we have search now but all the resources such as stores, services, products etc... have disappeared from AT. I need to find a tile guy ASAP as mine has been in an accident and is temp. out of commission. Since I can't look at the old AT list anymore for recommendations does anyone have a tile guy you'd recommend here in Manhattan?

Anne, the posts are still there...they are just currently hidden behind an invisible wall. Try a search for Tiling. Also, the ATNY classifieds are available if you go through a classified listing of another city...not ideal, but until it is fixed, it works.

I tried searching for about ten or twelve different topics and it didn't come up with anything. What is the invisible wall?

I'm not actually looking for old posts or classified ads. I'm looking for the Services section that AT used to have. It's a shame that they decided to not put it on here anymore. It was a great way to find recommended services.

Does anyone have a tile guy they can recommend?

Don't know if people have stopped reading this open thread so I'll post again in the next, but...
I'm moving into a new apartment and I want to get a portable washer/dryer, the kind that run on 110V and hook up to your sink. My lease specifically says I need permission to run these and I'm pretty sure my management company will say no. Should I ask and suffer if they say no or should I do it anyway, without asking? Has anyone had any bad experiences with these as far as leaking and causing damage?
Thanks!
