While I appreciate the yearly round-up...it's getting a little old. It feels like it's been going on forever. And it's just a little boring and difficult to navigate. I would really LOVE to see some new posts. I realize that there have been some new stuff, but it feels buried beneath the rehash. I hope the round-up is coming to an end. I am really turned off by it.
Perhaps others are too, which might me why there is no discussion on this open thread....sorry for the negativity.

The redesign plus the end of year round up has pretty much killed AT. I think it's time to start looking for another design site.

Thanks, AmyE, for tactfully saying what I've been thinking for days now. Editors, are you really totally committed to this round-up stuff?
I guess we could look on the bright side...the end-of-the-year Best Of posts are designed to fluff up page views, and more page views mean more ad revenue (hopefully). More ad revenue means more high-quality free content for us.
Still, the Best Of posts are clogging up my feed reader and killing new discussions. Booo.

AmyE,
I agree with you. I don't mind the round up so much if the purpose is to give the editors a vacation so they don't have to write new material. I think it is important that everyone gets to take a break. However I do feel that during these days of round ups, there should still be open threads so those of us who want to discuss can continue. But without the open threads, the difficulty of navigating the round up posts, and the painful clutter of the website, I am feeling really sad and disappointed about AT. I know Maxwell mentioned that they were working on the clutter issue - I would love to hear on update on that so those of us who are trying to be hopeful have something to look forward to.
