Hey everybody,
I just moved about 2 weeks ago and I'm sorry to say I had a lousy experience with Flatrate Movers and absolutely do not recommend them. The moving van came 2 hours early - 8:45am on New Years Day (not fun). They double billed me $1200 which took a week for them to reverse the charges. THEN I discovered that they actually over charged me $100 which I am still waiting to be reimbursed on. They don't return phone calls and it's near impossible to reach someone other than the operator. They are a mess.
sorry to start the thread on a bad note. On the positive side, I love my new apartment and hope to share some photos once I get settled!

I need a color opinion. Maybe I'm in need of a tropical vacation and thus I was thinking to go this color of blue.
I feel like lilac, or purple in general is kind of an underused color where the aqua trend might be a bit overused. But maybe the aqua will punch up that area, I get almost no natural light so I'm not sure if the blue will come out too intense.
So just wondering what you stylish AT-ers think, should I keep the lilac or go for the aqua? Or just do the bathroom aqua and hope that will satisfy need for blueness?
i don't think there's a wrong choice to make, i really like both colors. having said that, i would keep the lilac in the bedroom/living room and go with the aqua in the bathroom.
good luck!

i bought a floor model sofa (the Rochelle from Crate & Barrel) and am looking for someone to repair the cotton upholstery in the back.
the sofa looks ok against the wall, but it would be nice to have it in as new condition as i could get it.
any recommendations in the brooklyn/manhattan area? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was planning on painting the bathroom that color blue, but now I'm thinking maybe my living/bedroom would be nice in that color. It's currently a really nice lilac that I also like, see here:
