So I'm pretty new to AT. Is there a forum guide as to how it works? For example - how do y'all keep track of your posts? I feel like I ask questions all over the place and then forget where so I never get the answers.

If i click in your name after your post it shows all your comments and links to all the posts that you commented in. I think that is the extent of it though, other then that you just keep track yourself.

Hi mdeathstar- did you decide on your sofa purchase? Are you going to go w/ All Modern? I'm still deciding because I want to see if the lady I was trying to do business with will match with them. It's a $350 difference and I'm trying to purchase some other stuff and it's all cash so I have to do whats economically best for me. what's your take on that?

Rent law question:

I just got my monthly rent voucher. It has an item BASE RENT AR $100.00. How the f--- can they just raise my rent, midlease, like that? I called the management company and left a voicemail. But WTF?! There was no notice of them even applying for any sort of major capital improvement (plus no major work on the building), nothing in my apt has been repaired or upgraded.

WTF is this?

Hi kerri - I ended up going with All Modern (AND I went with Totem Storm!). For me it was closer to a $500 difference between the "local" store and on-line (our living room is on a second floor and All Modern didn't charge extra for stairs). I ordered it on Tuesday night and apparently it is already at the freight carrier waiting to be shipped! Of course it's in CA and I'm outside NYC so it will take a while. But I'm stoked.

Now just cross your fingers that I can sell my old sofa.

Need some help. Moving into my new co-op and the current finished are mostly fake brass (chrome in the bathroom and stainless sink in the kitchen)

Eventually I would love to change all the fixtures but to start I have to rid myself of this:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100468874&N=500192 4294928468 10401010

I got over the chrome and glass fixture I was craving and settled on the below--please give me some feedback. Is it ugly? Will it clash horribly with all the brass? Thanks!

Has anyone used the Cat Genie being advertised everywhere right now? Is it worth it?

Lady J - I would send your question to curbed.com....there are lots of curbed readers who can give you relevant advice and links to good sites to help answer your question.

mdeathstar- so you were in the same boat as me. Great to know you made your decision...I don't know why I'm stressing about mine. :-S I'm getting the Totem Storm too!! I'm so excited for you...you have to let me know how it looks when you get it. You will sell your other sofa...I have my fingers crossed. :-)

ok, here goes!

brooklyn, sixth floor, no balcony. i want a bird feeder (to entertain my cats).

are there any stable high-rise bird feeders out there??

like a bird feeder with some sort of attachment pieces (magnet, screw, etc), or that is held in place by closing the window on it (almost like you would an air-conditioner)?

any ideas out there? i can't do suction cupped feeders because that's truly not stable!

and to add: what kind of birds do you think i can attract? i'm in midwood. not far from me are tons of those brooklyn college parrots! squawk!

also, what bird feed? should i just buy unsalted sunflower seeds as opposed to a big bag of bulky feed?

Congratulations kerri - can you send pictures when your done (here or e-mail me at mdeathstar@yahoo.com). It turns out MY section will not be here until the end of May :( I must live vicariously through you.

Question: I find myself in possession of too many Eames rocker chairs. Is there a source for alternate bases? Can I switch them out myself?
