So, I know there are at least a couple upstate/Hudson valley residents here on AT. Can any of you help me out?
I'm about to close on a small house in Columbia County that will need historically sensitive renovation. I'd love some recommendations for architects, contractors, and or/sources in the Hudson Valley.
Thanks!

I'm originally from the Hudson Valley (Dutchess County)! I wish I had some answers but you make me think of the home. I have a question coming up, but I just wanted to say that I think it's weird - I didn't want to stay in the vicinity where I grew up, and I'm not that in love with my family, who is still there (parents) and elsewhere (siblings), but there is something about people from the internet saying that's where they are that makes me want to be their neighbor right now. I am useless for showing you around, but you make me want to come see the river and cruise Rte. 9 up to Columbia (which I have several times).
Anyway. My question was about the Brimfield Antique Show in Massachusetts (apparently we are part of NY!) We are seeing lots of posts about the Renegade Craft Fair on a booth-by-booth blow-by-blow, but nothing of the Brimfield! I need to know if I should hold my zipcar for September!

Of course now that I actually need this link, I can't for the life of me remember it!
There's a website/blog that has detailed lists/info on apartment for rent. It covers most major cities (Los Angeles included, which is why I'm looking for it). I think it was posted on AT awhile back, does anyone recall the site?

Can anybody suggest a chair similar to the Room and Board "Quinn"?
I have become fixated on this chair, but with the ($200!!) delivery charge, the damn think will cost at least $1000, which is more than I want to spend on a single chair. Or at least, on that chair.
But I can't find something else to love!
Any ideas? TIA

Sarah001 - I found a cute vintage slipper chair with very similiar lines on ebay for about $60 $80 in shipping. It took a bit of persistance (I looked for maybe a month) but I think it was worth it.

that should read "$60 plus $80 in shipping."
