At long last, I settle on these as bedside lights (the bed being Bo Concept's walnut platform bed). Question: how do I re-jigger these to allow for dimmers? Are they dim-able?

Use cords with dimmers -- then you can have the switch right next to your bed (or even be able to control the pair from one side of the bed).

Wet your finger and stick it in the socket.

Patrick. If this finger gets wet, it will be wet because it is dipped in acid. And then it's going somewhere that ought to concern you. And it's not a socket.

Yipes!
speaking of Jonathan's, there's a bit on mod+, newly launched, about the briefest exchange i had with Mr. J. Adler last autumn, posted merely to establish our general point of view, b4 just now finally catching up on last November's AT/Enrique interview with him, which i sadly missed, so my point is, we (mod+) are happy to be anyone's whipping boy...as we're not expecting comments, but any readership or inspired linking which results from it: yay hooray!
but try to go easy on us tomorrow, my b-day, and today begins my hospital secretary work week, and sat eve we'll be at the pre broadway A Chorus Line closing nite in SF...
sincerely, orange ed/mod+, your back in touch, or just touched, not snarky but slightly decadent younger website sibling.
ps
bcuz weeds can be pretty too, i think there's room for us in an abundant field; we must tear away from the blogging project runway site and fourfour (crazy recaps!), in the few precious minutes snuck online at work...see you next week, salaam!
pss
hello ptoo, see ya in Gotham this october!

Maxwell interviewd JA, not me! I merely stalked him during an appearance at his LA store (and drank the comp booze at the event.)

Starwood just recently launched a web presence for their next brand: Aloft-W Hotels. Though not slated to open until 2008 (according to what I've read), there are several 360-degree renderings of a virtual location with multiple room views. Besides hard-selling the whole Aloft concept, there are some great design ideas to be found on the site. Check it out. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofthotels/index.html

[Previous press coverage I've read on the brand described the concept as targetting a younger business traveler with increased attention to digital/wireless amenities and "social space"--because every business traveler wants to feel like Paris Hilton, I guess...]

Hi All,

I posted this on the last thread, but perhaps this more recent one is where I'm supposed to post?

Anyway, I am trying to find out what color is on the wall in the cover photo for the latest (Fall 2006) issue of Blueprint. There doesn't seem to be any credit for it, and I'm looking for a deep, rich blue like that for one of my bedroom walls -- essentially a blue that's intense (a true blue or slightly grayish, but not green) but not bright or primary-color-y. And not so dark it's navy or almost black.

Any ideas?

Thanks much!

Help! I bought a new "Klippan" loveseat from Ikea but threw out the foam rods that come with it only to discover that they were used when installing covers.

My question is: does anyone have the size of those rods so I can try to build some replacement ones since I want to change covers?

Margaret--
Take the actual magazine cover to anyplace that does computer color matching of paints.
