OK, I have another question today--since you were all so helpful yesterday. I have a great sofa frame that I adore, but the cushions are completely deflated and squished. I know I can go buy foam and stuffing and make new covers (or have new one smade), but I'm wondering if there is such a place that sells this stuff pre-mad4e and complete? Thanks!

Does anyone have an opinion on the Classic Sofa sleepers? I'm shopping for a sleeper for a client and we were both wondering just how comfortable their sleepers are. Anyone?

Hey all, I have a small question.
We live in a basement apartment, and I am considering painting one of our walls (currently white, painted last year). Any advice on how to paint to make the ceiling seem taller? (Or, furniture/art/shelving choices)

Maybe this is too large of a question for the watercooler, eh? :)

I haven't been able to visit AT daily (as is my usual practice) and wonder if I've missed a house tour of maxwell's renovation. Last I heard, he was going to post more pictures ... ?

Olya, paint the walls darker than the ceiling. Whatever color you choose, the ceiling should be the lightest color. Also, try painting the ceiling color down onto the wall a few inches to give an impression of molding and more height.

Leslie, we've gotten a feature on the roped pipe in the bathroom but not, alas, detailed photos of the entire rehab. (hint hint hint hint)

Olya, along with what Lady J said, I read somewhere that if you put a tint in your ceiling color (blue or green were suggested) and then DON'T repeat that color down in the room, the ceiling will look higher because the eye doesn't leap to make the connection between ceiling and furnishings.

Is the problem ceiling height or feeling of darkness? It sometimes works to put a sunny yellow tint in the ceiling paint. But the last time I did this, I was using Walmart's Popcorn color, and I don't know the Benjamin Moore equivalent. (How many paint stores do you think are open in the middle of the night? BM isn't... Walmart is.)
