Hello,

I am desperate to find a manufacturer who can do chain stitching in small quantity for a project I am working on. India is a hub for this craft but I have not been able to find a source - if anyone can supply a name I'd be so thankful.

Can anyone help me find a mirrored shelf? I am really looking for a small shelf for a bathroom with a look similar to the mirrored furniture they're selling at horchow - http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/catC6.jhtml?itemId=cat5560732&parentId=cat000002&masterId=cat000001&icid=furniture2. I've spent hours on the internet and...nothing. If anyone has seen anything similar please let me know! Thanks!

Hi,

I am looking for an orange throw for my cocoa brown Petrie sofa. I have tried several resources, and the only orange throw/blanket I can find is the waffle stitch throw from cb2:

but I am looking for something smoother or more sleek (perhaps cashmere?). Does anyone have any suggestions for a retailer who sells more colorful throws of a smoother texture?

Thanks,

AJ

Lynn,

You could very easily DIY a mirrored shelf for your bathroom. All you need to do is build the shelf out of MDF and adhere cut mirror tile to it. It is simple and would likely cost you a lot less than a similar retail buy (if you can find one).

Just Me -- I think you're looking for the plastic algae (white or green) -- they're in the MOMA online store (called Algue).

Thanks Deborah those are cool, but NOT it. These were more like the material from the spaghetti lamps of the 50's.
Sort of flattened out tangled plastic strands forming an 11 x 11 square that you could connect. I think it was last week or the week before on AT mentioned as room divers. Oh for a little on line sketch pad.

Maybe you're thinking of these from CB2? Click my name for the link.

A delayed reaction to a Jan 18 (I must have been sleeping...) mention on AT about Metropolitan Home's current issue and Todd Oldham's use of Charley Harper prints:

I was given 2 of Harper's Serigraphs as a gift in 1975 when they were first done. (One was done in '74). So glad I kept them. Here's a Harper Link. I have Birdwatcher and Painted Bunting.
I think both these look good in rooms with today's palettes. For those of you unfamiliar with Harper (my friend new him as Charles) you might want to check out his work. For those of you with cats, Birdwatcher can be hypnotic.

Thought I'd try to contribute something useful for a change...

Try this link or go to Garnet Hill and search cashmere throws.

Another option might be to get a giant-sized pashmina for use as a throw.

You could back it with another fabric, if you'd like something thicker.

AJ--
Williams Sonoma Home sells an orange cashmere throw.

But aim high!
Orange is the signature color of Hermes...

Lynn-
I was in a Target (DC metro area) the other day and they had a mirror floating shelf. Not too expensive and in 2-3 diff sizes in length. A possible solution for the Non-DIY. Check their new and improved website.

Just Me-
I do know what you are talking about. I do not know of the post you are referencing but I saw it in a CB2 catalog. Similar to the raffia and plastic spaghetti is a great description. Could not find it on their website but I will look for the catalogue for item number.

Hope this helps & good luck!

Alex and Jeen Marie - Thanks for all of the help with the mirror!

Thanks Jeen Marie & Trilobyte

That is almost it but not quite - these were definitely plastic and less organic, a bit loopier. but this was really close and if I never find them again perhaps I can use the CB2
