Hope everyone's morning is going ducky. I want to repost this question in case someone else has comments. I have a very small kitchen (well, a small room that has nothing in it right now but a sink and part of an oven) and I want to get a 24" gas range to give me a little more counter/storage space. I can't afford top of the line, but if anyone has any experience with any of the 24" ranges like premier, etc please let me know.

Also, how many folks do we have as AT readers in Austin? I'm wanting to go up to the Wilson laminate house in Temple, TX and just wondering who else may be game? Has anyone been? I think you have to request a tour in advance....

Hi Maxwell: I registered for the beta comments system last night and still haven't received an e-mail. Is there any way you can check to see if I left out a step?

Thanks!

Is ShopETC mag defunct? Can't find it.

Yes, Shop Etc went under last year. Since I was subscriber, they replaced the remaining issues of my subscription with Marie Claire. Bleh. Not cool; I'm so not a woman... That mag goes straight into the recycling bin for me.

Lisa,

I bought a 24" range for my previous apartment. It was an Avanti gas stove, with closed burners. It was a huge improvement over my previous stove, though the lighting system was a little weird. (the dial had to be pushed in to make it click)

I think it cost about $550.

My experience in looking for a stove this size is that there isn't much of a selection.

I'm now up to 3 clicks to return to previous page on the AT site.

New Domino mag is out.

Re: 24" stoves. I just bought a Premier (because it was the only one that had a separate broiler and stainless steel finish)for about $800 and I'm pretty satisfied. There are some stupid design aspects to it (like the back splash that takes up too much room and is unnecessary and the stove light which really only makes sense if you have a see-thru door), but I bake and cook stove-top and it's done its job. Slim pickings out there...

Pixie -- thanks for mentioning that, I thought it was just me, or my back button, or something.

Also, the number of clicks to go back is still variable.

Domino Mag = completely disappointing. It took my about 45 minutes, if that, to get through this month's annoying green issue. Yeah, I went green with Domino. It went right in the recycling bin. I

I'm looking for an occasional chair for my (small) living room. I came across the Coccoon chair from Bo Concept that would fit perfectly but it's a little pricey.

Any ideas on where to can find a cheaper version or a knock-off? Thanks!!!!

i hope this is the last time i type these numbers. :P

Kurt: I totally agree with you about Domino's "green issue". What a waste of the paper it was printed on! I know a lot of people really enjoyed it but to me paying $400 a yard for material just to be earth friendly is crazy! There are people starving in the world right now. The magazine should have been titled: How much should YOU spend to be politically correct??

On the other hand I loved the Wary Meyers spread. They embody the true recycle spirit: use old stuff over again.

But that's just my opinion...

I want to order outdoor furniture from a company, but they only take orders from designers. Any way around that? I don't know any designers either. Thanks, JR

JR, I own a store that sells outdoor furniture. If you want, you can contact me through our website and I'll see if I can help. Click on my name for a link to the site.

Lady J, my ShopEtc. mag subscription was replaced with Redbook. I'd rather have Enrique's Marie Claire!

When Budget Living went defunct, my subscription was replaced with ShopEtc. which was then replaced with Redbook. Aah! I'd rather have Enrique's Marie Claire!
