For those in the DC area, thought I'd pass on this sweet Craiglist listing I just spied--we can't use the chairs ourselves, but thought this crowd might appreciate them: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/fur/305853503.html.

a while back, Jaze and bujeeboo had asked me about cat toilet training...sorry i'm late in responding...
Jaze,
my cats were 6 mths old when I started training them and it took a total of seven weeks. They did have little mishaps here and there, but kept everything confined to the bathroom(sink/tub/trash can).
bujeeboo,
I used Arm/hammer's flushable litter and/or feline pine. both worked fine.

To add to GZgoingMod aka Geraldine's experience, I also tried to toilet train my 14 year old cat, except that I wasn't very successful. At first, my cat grudgingly accepted the move to the toilet, but the more rings I removed from the seat insert (I used citikitty), the more reluctant he was to poop on the toilet. So the accidents became more and more frequent, I grew more and more frustrated with him, and after about 12 weeks I gave up and put the litterbox back in. So the moral of my story is that how successful your training is largely depends on your cat.

Do you have any ideas of a good place to find a good selection of bed linens for guys? So much of the good, high thread-count bedding is either boring (white with monograms...) or flowery and girly. Where can you find good linens that will satisfy both sexes?
Thanks!

Does anyone know where to get photoreal floor tiles? Like stones, grass or water. Not custom. Thanks

www.designpublic.com has some fun patterns, not too girly. They aren't Frette in quality but still pretty nice. You might also try www.2modern.com. Good luck.

This seems as good a place to ask as any...
I've recently moved to NYC from Massachusetts, where every grocery store offers a bin to recycle plastic shopping bags. However, I've yet to see one in any Manhattan grocery store.
I already asked the Lower East Side Ecology Center which offered one location -- "the supermarket located in the Zeckendorf Buildings on 14th Street & Union Square East" -- which seems bizarrely vague. (Who refers to a supermarket not by name, but by the building it's in?)
The bags are taking over my closet because I hear won't biodegrade for a thoooooousand yeeeeears in my brain every time I throw one out!
Help?

this place seems to have some (though it looks like some designs are only suitable for walls....) not sure exactly what you're going for....

elevenhounds -
I have seen these at the upscale Home Depot store - I'm forgetting their name right now, maybe starts with an "e". They had stones, grass, etc as ceramic floor tiles. It was a while ago so I'm not sure if it is a product that they still carry.

Wicked! Thanks for the link and info Lynn and Amy(rustyletter) I checked out ImagineTile and they are gorgeous but sadly have NO pricing so I have to email them for more info. I was looking at the grass floor tiles for my bathroom.

Yeah!! Not pertinent to anything - I finally accomplished uploading a photo in my profile!!! (Not one of me) I work with computers in my day job, I come home and the brain doesn't work because I change into jewelry woman. Yeah!

Kristen,
I totally agree! In Florida, you bring in your bags and they recycle them. I have wondered before why they don't do that here.

Doesn't Whole Foods or Trader Joe offer bag recycling? I could totally be wrong!

Kristen,
Some people use the bags to scoop the poop, so they don't recycle them. I used to keep a small net bag in my purse to keep the number of bags that I got down (when I lived in NYC). I have bigger collection that I use when I shop, I hate those plastic bags that can only one one thing and you have double them or use paper and plastic to get home. NYC not the mecca of recycling.

CariJoyce - Check out Calvin Klein. The basic stuff is good. The more expensive is better.

Actually, I think "the supermarket located in the Zeckendorf Buildings on 14th Street & Union Square East" the LESEC alluded to is actually Whole Foods... which, I guess, is the Voldemort of grocery stores and cannot be mentioned by name.
I guess I could call them to find out.
