Hi Maxwell,

I don't know if it's feasible, but is it possible to put on the date archive page ( http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/0407/index ) how many comments each topic has (in parentheses)?
It seems like it would be a great way for people to see at a glance if anything new has been added to any of the day's threads.

Just a thought....

I'm pining for a fireplace. Does anyone have experience with the ventless models that burn a gel substance? Are they safe? How long do those pricey cans of gel last?

Thanks.

this week's Time Out New York is the apartment/rental special that they do a couple of times a year. Supposedly there's a contest in it for a free rental. I don't know the details yet...haven't fully read.

I need sofa advice asap... Still trying to find an affordable used sofa that isn't horribly ugly. My friend will sell me hers, I'm not in love with it but it's kinda cool. It's very low profile, angular, funky, very worn (cracked) gray leather. Really hard to explain, I've never seen anything quite like it.

Here's the question - the seat is only about 14" high. My credenza, which the tv will be on, is 29" high. That seems like too much difference, no? Then I thought, what if I put the sofa on 3-4" casters? Solve the height problem, and I'd like to have it on casters anyway for cleaning. But would it look silly?

Can anyone provide a link to p(2)'s apartment as shown somewhere here on AT? It was the subject of effusive praise in one of the smallest/coolest comment sections, and I feel like I'm missing out...

Meanwhile, p(2), if you happen to see this, I'm still cracking up about your "THREE men" retort, which was positively brilliant.

I'll try to refocus on design questions now - thanks, all!

There's a new yahoo group called Brooklyn Home and Garden (you don't have to live in Brooklyn). I hope it will become a great resource for home/design/garden ideas and sources. If you want to subscribe, here's the email

brooklynhomeandgarden-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Someday I, too hope to become a blogg
