Update on Vestfrost Fridge (for my fellow nerds.) After running it a while on a watt meter, it comes in at about 500kwh a year which is NOT the most energy efficient fridge on the market. I'm still estimating $25-30 for annual electric. I do still love its styling, quiet and performance so far, so I'm still a happy camper, but you could probably get frost free at even more economy. I am guessing it's the dual compressors that account for the kwh figure.
So that's the latest.

Anyone have any suggestions of things I should see when I go to Seattle for the first time in two weeks? So far, all I have on my list is the public library.

Does anyone have experience with the Ikea memory foam mattresses? i need a new mattress, but i hate the idea of paying $800 if the $400 Ikea mattresses are any good.
thanks!

I used to have a guy who would make stands and "museum mounts" for me, for various items and artifacts, but he seems to have disappeared, perhaps gone back to Europe.
Any sources for custom metal stands for smaller table-top items?

I submitted this as a Good Question, but I'm desperate- any solution for fixing the awful IKEA drawer bottoms? I've never owned one that didn't bow and eventually collapse. We're moving soon and will leave it behind, but in the meantime, has anyone exchanged them successfully? The grooves are so shallow that I can't figure out what to wedge in there that would support the weight of clothes.
Thanks!

caitlin--
If a stay there is not in your budget, at least visit the Four Seasons (Seattle) at Happy Hour. A great, grand space, with the most amazing home made potato chips and other savories, gratis with your cocktails.
A lovely, civilized respite as your shift gears from day to night.

Thanks for the tip p (too), however, when I search for the Four Seasons Seattle, all I come up with is the Fairmont Olympic. Is that somehow the same thing?

caitlin -- for museums, the burke and the asian art museum.
for fun, pike's market, which used to have some fun antique/junk shops mixed into its jumble

caitlin--
Huh. That looks like the place, for sure, but could have sworn it was Four Seasons. Hope the homemade chips were not a casualty if a brand change!

Posted this on the other OT, but wanted to try to make sure you saw this...
Just discovered Seascape Lamps:

All feature bottom diffusers, and lots of custom options, all in the ballpark of $200, give or take. Looks promising!

caitlin - for what it's worth, the Fairmount in Philadelphia is now called the Bellview(-Stratford Hotel). Our Four Seasons has always been the Four Seasons.
Also, on the Unclutterer - did anyone see that Doc sofabed from BonBon Trading. Looks like one would need some room to maneuver it. Neat idea though!
