Hi,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice buffet/credenza type of thing that is less than 3 feet wide? I'm looking for a piece for our dining room but I only have this narrow space. Ideally it would be 3 feet wide, about 3 feet tall, and at least 16" deep, with at least some of the storage space concealed...not just an open shelf. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, it seems like most things in this category are 4 or more feet wide.

Thanks!!!

What about looking at sofa tables? Can you use baskets or drape fabric over it or make a curtain for it for your concealed storage?

Upper kitchen cabinets bolted to the wall, so the top is your desired height may be better. Of course, they are only 12" deep.

bsc,

This one has open and closed storage:

This cabinet (that was hotly debated on AT not too long ago) fits your dimensions:

Also, this one, that is more like a home office, but cool nonetheless:

Or this one:

Does anyone know a website to get ceramic tile cheap? We are trying to buy some 20's or 30's style hex or herringbone mosaic tiles. Thanks!

bsc,
friends of mine always seem to have good luck at the door store. i have yet to check it out but i know they got a really nice looking buffet there. i think they're relatively afforable.

side note: i check out the magazine blueprint and was quite pleased with it. I resisted at first because i tried to avoid all things martha stewart but was pleasantly surprised by the combo of home entertaining ideas, home decor and fashion.

vertigo,

re: sidenote:

My wife and I were just having a discussion about Martha Stewart. A lot of people don't like her but the fact is, she is a master of so many different things that we talk about on this site.

Blueprint shows that she is not only knowledgeable and skilled at so many of these things but that she (and most importantly her staff) are in tune with what is modern and tasteful as well.

And I will admit, that she influenced my desire to be a cook when I was just a wee lad. Just don't tell too many people.

this is a question for any canadians, specifically montreallers out there.. I'm not really sure where to ask my question so I'm giving AT a shot. I'm basically looking for places where I can get posters mounted - or framed if it is possible that it would be inexpensive. I'm still a student so posters seem somewhat inevitable but I think just mounting them on a board or basic frame greatly decreases the "studentiness" of posters... so any ideas on where/what materials I should use to do this myself, or places that will do it for low prices? thanks!

alissa-
I'm not from canada, but i know that the ikea frames are great for posters....they have one very large one with an aluminum frame that is quite tasteful and affordable
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/10094060
(comes in more sizes)

plus there are the ribba frames in many sizes that are so nice--they were covered on AT a few days ago
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/70109799

Having the posters custom mounted & framed can cost a lot of money--even as much as original artwork....imho it's better to diy if the pieces are large and not particularly valuable.
