I'm planning to use a couple of small ottomans for a coffee table, and found this cute blue microleather one online:

I love the tall legs, the color, and the price. But I don't know anything about microleather. Does it look good? And is it reasonably durable?

We ordered tile from ebay for our kitchen backsplash and it came today-- but it's totally the wrong color! :( Clearly the photo posted on ebay was really off. I wish i could use it but it would just look horrible in my kitchen.
I've written to the seller to complain, but I wonder if anyone has experience with resolving this sort of thing. I've had great luck with ebay in the past and this seller had a great rating. Was it just dumb to order something online where color was so important?

i think i just ordered the last 4 white gilbert chairs that ikea has. anyone have these? are they awesome or did i just make a mistake?

kdkaboom, they are great looking and sturdy. The white paint (they are painted wood) will rub off on the edges over time, but there's not a whole lot you can do about that -- I have a painted Arne Jacobsen chair that has suffered the same fate over the course of a few years.
Anyway, yes, they are awesome, and not a mistake. (Is it just the white ones that are being discontinued, or all the Gilberts?)

anna, thank you for that info!! phew!
i don't know if they're being discontinued (i doubt it, they're probably the bestselling chairs they have!) but two different salespeople said they're totally out of stock after my order and no store in ny, nj, or ct has them, either. so, who knows!

sprite: you could request a swatch?

Jal - The company has one ottoman on auction at eBay for less than the regular price, and I was thinking of bidding, but the auction ends before I could get a swatch. Maybe I'll just wait; the regular price is so good anyway.

kdkaboom....ikea.com shows the gilbert chairs as available to order online--if you wanted more, that is. but ikea's website isn't very clear about shipping costs.
sprite...the seller may post those ottomans over and over again--sell one, and post another. could you check their closed auctions to see? it looks like they have duplicates of some of the other items they carry.

polkadot - How do I check their closed auctions? Maybe that's a dumb question, but I'm an eBay newbie....

Need help identifying 2 chairs. Are these Gio Ponti?

I am interested in framing some photos and other mementos to hang on a wall in my small bathroom, but I'm concerned about the steam from the shower. Has anyone done this?
view Noah's profile
Noah, I've had a large print hanging in my bathroom for several years...no problems at all. Just make sure it's framed properly.
Speaking of prints, the 20x200 event starts this week http://www.20x200.com. I have no association with them but this is from their site:
20×200 is all about making art affordable- each of our artists' editions is available for $20- and we're officially open for business.
We've stocked up on the equivalent of 3 weeks worth of editions to give people an idea of the range of work we'll be showing. There's work from familiar Jen Bekman Gallery artists like Amy Ross, Tema Stauffer and our favorite obsessive consumer, Kate Bingaman-Burt , but there will also be new artists to check out - for instance, painter Jennifer Sanchez has a gorgeous print for sale as part of our initial inventory (And as it will always be, the original painting is available too!)

I can't remember where on here, but someone posted a link to talissadecor.com and I ended up having a look and bought some of their ceiling tiles, which are due to arrive sometime next week. I hope they're good, becaue I didn't order a sample, I just ordered 100 of the tiles! I love my living room, but the ceiling had too many cracks, and i just couldn't fact skim-coating it at all!
If anyone's curious, the pattern I bought was U-2.
Cross your fingers and help me hope for the best!
