Does anyone happen to know where Anthropologie gets their grey linen upholstery fabric. I can't find anything similar. would be buying the ditte sofa in the grey linen, but it won't fit through my door (slightly devastating). So, I am going with another option, but trying to cover it with the same fabric. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Is it OK to use a chrome faucet in a kitchen with all stainless steel appliances?

Is it possible to paint this ugly tile on my floor?

That the organizer is coming today reminded me that I hadn’t posted what finally happened with the flying mantle.

I went for a row of masks above.

anyone know where i can find a nice modern table runner (no chintz, no tassles!) and for relatively cheap? i heart a calvin klein one at macys, but $70? i think not. over $20 and i'm not interested. any ideas?

eastvillageamy, that's awesome classic nyc tile!

i wouldn't paint it...i highly doubt it would look good or even work! i'd put a rug on it (or mat, or cloth, etc), or try this:

EastVillage Amy;

I actually rather like that tile. Is it a bit dingy? Would scrubbing bring it back to life -- not to be judgemental, I can't really tell what state its in from the pic.

kdkaboom,
I've seen some nice runners at IKEA and Pier 1 Imports, but the selection tends to change from season to season. Definitely reasonably priced though.

Yes, my tile is a bit discolored, dingy, and in some spots uneven. I've really scrubbed it, but even after it doesn't look like I've done anything, so that's why I was thinking to paint it. I don't know of a paint that exists that will adhere to tiles and will hold up for floor traffic. Unfortunately my entire apt is covered with this so I don't think the rubber would be a possible solution and it just seems like dirt would really stick to rubber. I'm imagining a yoga mat like texture there.

Hmm, so rugs it is then.

kdkaboom, you could also just check a fabric store and get them to cut out a fabric you like and then use that iron on tape stuff if you can't sew.

thanks michelle of montreal! ikea is too far, but pier 1 is easy...i'll take a look!

eastvillageamy, i'm seriously considering that option...though i lack talent in even creating rectangles :)

by the way, i was on overstock.com the other day looking at rugs, and they've got some BIG rugs for like, $100! that might be an easy and inexpensive solution for ya!

that or reglaze the tiles?

good luck :)

kdkaboom -- you can get table runners just about anywhere. Try Walmart/Kmart/ Target./Pier 1. And larger stores, Macys, JC Penney, etc. Probably if you can buy table linens or curtains, they probably have table runners. Right now the fall colors are in, so you might be able to pick up something at a nice price on sale from the summer sales. Do you happen to live near any outlet store?

kdkaboom- There are a few on "sale" at Williams Sonoma, a few are more rustic country than contemporary but these might help?:

vickya, i haven't checked kmart or walmart, but unfortunately, this is the type that target has (sob):

sarahrae, i like those you linked to! while the price is right, the colors ain't. but i'm keeping my eye on those, because i *could* live w/ pink :)

Katy (kdkaboom) check out Conway if you are in NYC. Suprisingly they sometimes have good stuff. Some stuff is incredibly off the boat style. But I scored some nice curtain panels there. Also got a Colin Cowie bedskirt for 2 dollars. Also Target periodically cycles through crap table runners and nice ones. Other usual suspects are Marshalls and TMaxx.

Joan A and EastVillageAmy:

Thank you for your comments.

KDKaboom

Sashes and scarves can be repurposed as table runners without needing any effort on your part. There may even be one in your wardrobe that's crying out for a moment in a spotlight.

EastVillageAmy:

Personally, I'd give those tiles another chance, but if you want to go the rug route, check out Timbuktu on Second and Second. The colors and textures of the rugs in the back might work for you and the prices are too dear.

Tru, how funny you mention conways?? I went for a walk yesterday and somehow ended up there...I spent an HOUR going thru the curtains bin... I was so excited but I ended up not finding a dang thing! And the table runners they had were barf. BUT, they do rock for the occassional score, absolutely!

JonathanB, sadly I don't have a scarf that's 7 feet long! :)

I'm thinking if this doesn't pan out, I might do placemats all the way across. At least I know there's a gazillion placemats out there for me that don't cost $80!

Thanks for the rug sources. I'll definitely check them out.
