I just found an amazing danish style arm chair (wood, low to the ground) but the catch is, it doesnt have any cushions. The cushions would be on the seat and seat-back and square in shape. Does anyone know of anywhere in NYC that sells seat cushions, or should I just suck it up and sew ones myself?

i'm so still so confused about how to cluster a bunch of framed prints and photographs, mostly of my kids and prints of children, some are a pair, one a trio, should i put those together? not a lot of spare wall space.

Save my new lamp! I love the base but the shade is heinous! Where can I find a new one? I'm thinking preferably whiter and more of a drum shape (or can someone suggest something better)?
i actually don't know where you could go to get it done in the city, but i'd be interested, too! i don't know if i want patio furniture fabric in my place! :)

I they are all already framed and of a reasonable size, take 'em to a copy shop and have color copies made of them in their frames. Cut them out and try arranging on the wall with low-tack tape.
To get a more cohesive look, convert all to black and white or sepia, and/or frame in all the same frame color (not necessarily all the same style of frame, though).
Keep the space between items tighter than the areas around them (if that makes any sense).
Our new place has a really long living room that must have been 2 rooms at some point. It is 14 feet by 32 feet. There are newly done hardwood floors with a nice inlay design. Would you do one long rug or 2 separate ones. If 2 would you do the same rug or 2 complementary rugs. We will probably have 2 arrangements in the room but that may change one day. Thanks!

Want2bmod -- I'd do 2 rugs, as it's likely to be difficult even to find a single rug that fits that space. You'll have so many more choices -- and much less onerous delivery -- if you do two rugs.
The rugs should coordinate but not be identical. A pair of matched rugs draws attention to the rugs having been bought new in a single retail frenzy, when the idea is to have your belongings contribute gently and quietly to the impression of years of accumulated good taste.
i've hit the decluttering wall. :-(
i've pared down quite a bit in my 400sq ft apt but i still have a way to go with getting rid of unnecessary items in my closets and the storage areas under my sinks and bed.
are there any affordable services in the city who go through your place with you and objectively help you let go and get rid of STUFF? these are not items that are worth fixing/altering/donating.
friends haven't yet made the time to help and honestly, i think i'd defend holding onto things they'd suggest i throw out and i don't want to put them through that. :-p
no, i'd rather hire the help from someone more objective.
thanks in advance for any tips!

saltocean, i was going to use this place for an ottoman cushion...it's just, the fabric is for outdoor/indoor use, so probably not very soft, eh?

Anyone check out Ninaribena's Fall Colors entry over on AT:SF http://sanfrancisco.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/fall-colors-2007-northwest/5-ninaribenas-lighthearted-playful-colour-033470 ? I love her 'landing strip' and have been looking for storage cubbies with rounded corners like the ones in the 3rd picture (so much cooler than a regular old shoe bench). She's in Australia, but does anyone know where I can find a similar product in the U.S.? Thanks!
