Question can anyone here on A.T. help me in choosing a desk chair? I like both the Nelson chair in white or the Eames plastic side chair in white. Problem is the Nelson chair doesn't look too comfortable.
Does anyone have this chair? And if so, is it comfortable to use as a desk chair?
I don't sit long periods of time at my desk. It's mostly used to check email and browse on the web.
Thanks!

I'm looking for a nice canister set for my kitchen to save on space and keep my main ingredients super handy and stylish. Any feedback on these 2 canister sets would be appreciated. Does anyone prefer stainless over acrylic or ceramic/earthenware, or the other way around? If so, why? Thanks!!

I use the yoga chair. It is a knockoff of a northern Euro chair. An acquaintance, Don, in my area manufactures and sells them. It is very form fitting and contorts to your size and weight. I work from home and live in front of my computer. Over the last year of using this chair, my posture has improved.
You can view/order the chair at www.myyogachair.com. If you decide to purchase one tell Don that you are helping him buy his RS4 (he will know who refered you).

I've just been shopping for a new canister set myself. I'm getting rid of my old stainless set because stainless? Yikes! Stainless gets spotty from water, from splashes of cooking, from flour, from anything. You have to wash your canisters fairly often to keep them looking tidy (at least, to me!) and it's a pain.

Hey, everyone -- my AT posts are beginning to show up on Google (when I do further searching on a subject we've been discussing). This never used to happen.
I am bone ignorant about this stuff. Is it a problem? is this the result of some tech. change in AT that could be fixed?

Yes, AT web wiz, if this could be a non-Google-able site, I would so appreciate it!

Why is it being Google-able a problem?

In fact, Google has been the best way to search the AT site.

Google used to be the only way to find good ideas that were hidden in the comments or Open Threads, so I think it's always spidered the full content.
I would oppose making AT non-Google-able. A year ago, the level of meanness and trolling on the site was alarming, and anything that makes posters less accountable for their comments encourages a return of that kind of viciousness.
The only reason I ever found this site in the first place was via Google. I think AT would gain a lot fewer new readers without Google.

I think for next year's color contest, people should be required to answer questions about what color paint they used. I keep checking back to see if certain people have answered the repeated inquiries, but nada.

Back to my state of near-total ignorance: my concern is that if someone finds my post on AT through Google can they follow it back, somehow, to my e-mail address, or is that protected?

Your email isn't displayed anywhere on the site, so I really don't see why it'd be a problem that you can search through comments... unless, of course, you use some sort of really unique moniker that you also use elsewhere on the internet.

Elchan is correct -- there's no direct way to link a handle here to an email address.
People who are publicly traceable from AT did one of several things:
1. Used the same (unusual) handle here that they do in other venues, some of which do include direct email listings.
2. Put in their profile (or in a posting) a link to an outside site that provides more information about them.
3. Volunteered enough information to work out who they are (real name, business, masses of details about their neighborhood, stuff like that).
I'm incredibly easy to stalk online (but impossible to phone or mail); a "Deborah" who doesn't link to a Web site should be nigh unto impossible to trace from here unless you start enumerating your favorite neighborhood design shops.

I've also decided against ceramic for the reason that I like to be able to see what's in my canisters and how much I've got left. So I'm going with a glass set, probably this one from container store:
