I feel like this has been asked a thousand times (and I did just search here), but can someone point me to a nice but cheap drum shade pendant with diffuser?

I know alluminare.com but I'm hoping not to spend $300-400. Then again, it's for my dining room so I want something that's a little nice. Any ideas? Thanks.

julianna,

patrick (the other one) recommended this to me a few months ago in an open thread, the double dip pendant from cb2.com:

http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=120&f=2977&viewall=1

so i got two for above the dining table. they are AWESOME. and they feel like QUALITY shades, have a nice weight to them, and the diffuser is really good looking. we hard wired them, so that meant riggin' em, but here's the final product:

just know that my bro made a metal and wood canopy, but they do sell cheapie plastic canopies or uber expensive steel canopies at lighting/hardware stores.

thanks patrick :)

Most people know the LACK shelf at Ikea, right?

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60103632

I'm trying to figure out how to make or where to find a floating desk like this. Wouldn't have to be heavy duty, tho even Ikea says the LACK can hold 30 lbs if installed properly. We're hoping for something about 14" deep, 48" wide to hold a laptop and some paperwork. I'm not much of an (ikea)hacker but I'm wondering if there's something we could make from scratch. Thanks for any help with this -- Any ideas or experiences?

Shannon, thank you! That link looks tailor-made. And hey, if you see "how to lose 20 lbs in 20 days" anywhere would you mind shooting that my way, too? LOL.

Elle Decor was horrid this month. I get the concept of "Artists we Love", but I feel like the editors just flipped through their rolodex, chose their favorite designers and artists and pulled an add for each of them. This month's Elle Decor is page upon page upon page of adds. it wasn't until page 220 that I found design without a pitch, and by that time I was so disappointed I had already written off the magazine as a whole. I wish I could believe that this is just a bad month, but Elle Decor has been terrible for me for the last SEVERAL months. I'm done buying Elle Decor. $5.99/month for page upon relentless page of advertising for furniture I can't afford... I wish I could get my money back!

Flickr experts?

All my photos, even the ones shot in large format, 10 mp, are appearing small on my flickr site.

Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Is there a step that I am missing when uploading?

I use the flickr uploader and take them from my mac.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
