anyone else wondering what happened to the site re-design that we were counting down? What's the update?

Okay, this is weird, but whatever.

I just moved, and I left behind my old bookshelves (Ikea Ivar, the erector set ones), because a friend said he wanted them. Well, it turns out that my super removed them from the apt w/out telling me (put them in the basement), and the friend couldn't get them, and he's decided he doesn't want to bother. So now I have forty shelves worth of used but still sturdy Ivar that I have to dispose of by tomorrow (when my lease runs out).

Anybody want them? The catch is that you have to be able to pick them up TODAY.

Cassis - ME! ME! Where are you located?

The shelves are in Brooklyn (Park Slope)--only three blocks from the F train (although there are too many to carry on the subway unless you bring several burly friends). You can pick them up any time after 2 pm (which is when the super is coming to free them from the basement).

I really hope you (or someone) can get them. There are cat scratches on some of the end pieces, but those are still usable and the rest are in pretty good shape.

Ps. The shelves are dissasembled, so they should be relatively easy to move.

This is Ikea Ivar, if you haven't been introduced:

Bshipp -

The redesign is being tested by quite a few AT readers who volunteered in this thread:

I don't know when they'll launch it. If you want access to the beta site, I would email the editors.

I just want to post a compliment to the editors about AT: Chicago. I don't know who you've got working over there, but I've been reading it regularly everyday, and I think they are exceptional... my favorite of the geographical sites.

Has AT done a feature on bathrooms lately? I seriously need some inspiration for a bathroom remodel. Preferably contemporary. Anyone out there want to share some pics?

Thanks so much Lori 2. The bathroom is beautiful. I love the texture contrast between the slick cabinets and ridged wall - is that tile or a wall treatment?

Yay yay! New site looks lovely and clean. (Favourite bit so far - the little hot links to the Kitchen/Nursery/Green/Tech at the bottom of the pages). Well done for hard work!

I think that the organization of the site is more efficient, and I think that's kind of important, since good housekeeping and organizing are as important parts of the whole DNA of this site as design is.

I think they've done a very nice job.
