Does anyone know if I could mount the one horizontally and another vertically? Would the vertical book stay in? Perhaps two of them at a 90 degree angle making a downward arrow that I could rest books in? I think I saw a DIY conceal shelf somewhere online that involved screwing the book to the shelf (which is fine since I intend to buy some big used hardcovers) but I can't find that link now.
Any thoughts?

I'm trying to replicate the Harry Allen Bookshelf I saw on AT:LA for a good bit less than he's charging.

I was thinking of using the conceal bookshelves from Container Store.
