Bar & Coffee Table by Isay Weinfeld

8-7-storage-bar-1.jpg

This reminds us of the Kitchen Organizer, but built for a lounge. Brazilian designer Isay Weinfeld has designed an amazingly compact piece of storage furniture — a low bar for entertaining while lounging. Though designed as a bar, we'd like this piece as a coffee table, chock-full of functional storage...

With the various compartments, deep drawers and wooden storage boxes, Isay Weinfeld's design could hide a LOT of clutter and also artfully display some of your favorite things. Via: notcot.com.

It looks cool, but I don't understand: This bar is really low to the ground and has no table space - the antithesis of typical bar design.

How does one mix a drink on it? And what about a blender?

Or, do you stoop down, grab everything you need, then mix your drinks on a higher console? And if you're gonna do that, why not just keep your hootch in the taller console to begin with?

This just looks odd and doesn't really suit it's purpose.

This is the perfect bar! Breaks out of the old standards of a bar. Why do we need to get up from our seat to get a drink? Just grab just the box of items you need. Or just wheel it out to the room or patio directly to the party. Much easier than everyone having to go to and fro to get their drinks from another room. Or going in and out the door to outside. It looks like there is a big ice bucket as well. Truly out of the box thinking in a perfect box!

It looks cluttered to me and back breaking. Unless you're the type to sit at home and drink on your couch a lot, by yourself, then it's not terribly practical.
