Thout Design's UtiliTILE Hallway Organization

Modular Organization. After our Top 10: Modern Free-Standing Coat Racks post last week, we've refocused our coat rack search to more space-saving wall-mounted options like the UtiliTILE from Thout Design. Different tiles are responsible for different function from a row of hooks to key and shoe storage...

tiles can be customized by function and number of tiles to suit any space. Every tile features folding hardware for a flat wall when storage is not in use.

Love the idea!!! I think this would be the perfect solution to my entry, but i don't see prices on the Thout Design site...wish they were just straightforward with listing the costs of the different tiles....when I don't see a price, I tend to assume it is out of reach. (Like if you have to ask, then it is too expensive)

I'm so smitten, I don't care how much UtiliTILEs cost; I'm in.

And I'm more of an Alberto Pinto girl, too.

Just brilliant...

Your assumption was right polkadot! I think they're brilliant, but a bit pricey.

Keyed: $225
Hooked: $200
Blank: $90
Etched Blank (with words): $160

Prices are in USD, now that the Loonie is worth about the same as the US Dollar.

I was also informed that extra strength Velcro is used to "mount" these onto the walls.

Love them, but a little pricey - especially considering they want you to use velcro. With the way we pile coats on our coat hooks, I can see this peeling right off the wall.
