Bloom Pot by Rob Slewe

Brighten up your balcony with the Bloom Flowerpot, designed by Dutch designer Rob Slewe. The pot does two jobs: it's a planter and it's outdoor lighting...

The pot is made of double-walled polyethylene with 2 energy-saving lamps concealed inside. Made in white, red, orange, lime-green, pink, purple and light blue. There don't appear to be any US distributors currently selling the Bloom Pot but there is a European shop, Questo Design, that ships to the US. The 24" diameter pot is priced at about $230.

I have seen some really cool square planters like this somewhere online. This is one place you can find them. They are insanely expensive, though!

They make them for our US electrical standards too....both regular 3-prong plug and for a low-voltage outdoor lighting system. Unfortunately, they just lost their US distributor as of the end of January. Note: even regular UPS shipping in the US used to run around $45 per pot for the 24" version. I can't imagine the cost to air freight them in from the manufacturer in Holland.
