Dear AT,
Help! I fell in love with this outdoor sofa on Flickr and I can't figure out how to actually get my hands on it, or something similar even.
Finding a beautiful, affordable outdoor sofa is really stumping me.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! Andee

They had one almost exactly like it at Pier1 a couple of years ago but haven't been there in a while.

It's sad that much of the furniture is NOT affordable...

And that stuff is often coming right from China:
http://www.made-in-china.com/products-search/hot-china-products/Wicker_Sofa.html
So you have to wonder what the mark-up is.
Best advice, browse. Or tell folks what you consider to be "affordable". Because you might be thinking "affordable" is a couple hundred dollars, and you want that item for that much...
But that won't happen. LOL! Because this item is a couple hundred bucks:
http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Wicker-Chaise-Lounge/1764894/product.html?
This is $470:

This is $1300:

These are $1800:

P.S. One of the above I spotted on eBay for about $1000.

Thanks for the suggestions. TRUE, you found some great ones. I should of said that $500 was my price range. I'm going to consider the Overstock one and also will go to Pier 1 . I'm not set on wicker, just want something really pretty. Sam's has some metal ones, but I just don't find them beautiful.

AKB2003, how about checking regular outdoor sofas? Something you can recline on, or sit on. The sales are starting now, and should only get better.
Take a look at this:
http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1109078&navCount=1
It's a basic outdoor sofa, about $500...but doesn't include the pillows. And the pillows aren't available.
Compare with an indoor loveseat for $249:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19850963
Or sofa for $299:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S09850968
The big difference is the price. And that the outdoor furniture has/uses Sunbrella fabric.
Keeping those IKEA items in mind, look over here:
http://www.spacify.com/instock_furniture-i640.html
They have boxy armed, wood sofa items. But they're charging $1500 for them. And you could have a good one from IKEA for $300.
Plus, you could get cushion cover sets, they are $20.00 for ONE back and ONE seat:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80119806
You'd need two for a love seat and three sets for a sofa. So, for about $420.00, you could have a sofa with THREE different covers. White. Black. And white/black pattern.
And you can do weird stuff, like put a circle pillow on top of the seat:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10125434
Or put slightly smaller squares in different colors on top of the cushions:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00125482
They have lots of cushions there at IKEA, these could be on the ends of the sofa:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10125518
The sofas, no matter what kind, should generally be covered anyway, when not in use.
Really, look at this one:
http://www.dwr.com/product/outdoors/new/veneto-sofa.do
And they want you to use wood glue too. For $3,300, it better include the wood glue, sandpaper, and hammer. But I bet it doesn't.
Seriously, check out the "indoor" solid wood furniture.

Thanks True! Unfortunately my husband (who is very handy) hates Ikea stuff that has to be assembled because of several bad experiences.
