How did you create it? The raised beds were already in place when we moved in, but we have spent the past few years editing the plants. We put in the flagstone patio. Initially we thought we would do it ourselves and impulsively bought a pallet of stone on a trip to Vermont. We spent a year slowly bringing the stone back to Jersey City. In the end, we used a contractor to actually put the patio in and had to buy a bit of extra stone to create it.

We decided not to 'cement' the flagstone in place, in hopes of growing creeping Thyme and other types of ground cover between the stones. It's been a bit of a challenge, but this summer we're determined to find the right plants both for between the stones in the patio and the raised beds.
