Why must these new, "green" outdoor furniture designs have all the grace and elegance of combat boots? A mammoth boulder would look less cumbersome on our terrrace than this contraption.

I disagree. I think these are way less Woody Harrelson/Earth Shoe than green products have tended to look.

these are hot. they have them on the rooftop of the gorgeous victor hotel in miami beach (among other places) and believe me, people really use them in creative ways....;)

So I hope the upholstery can indeed be hosed down.
