BioShield: Eco-Friendly Paints, Stains & Finishes

2005_2_8_paint.jpgThe Right Thing. Consider:

There are more than 10,000 chemicals that can be used in conventional paints; many of which are newly created chemical components with little research conducted regarding their long-term effects on both humans and the environment.

BioShield paints are non-toxic, low VOC and 98% naturally derived from plant sources and minerals. And they are not just about paints. BioShield offers a growing line of finishes and colorings from everything to walls to floors to furniture. They offer solvent-free wall paint, clay paints, color washes, cork flooring and wood stains.

Prices are a little higher, but they should be; this is actually good stuff, and colors run to around 50 variations. All can be ordered from their catalog or website. MGR

I'm so glad to see a plug for this company and low VOC paints in general. I get their catalog and as soon as I get over a general malaise the thought of painting always brings on I am ordering from them, or someone like them.

Thanks, I love resources like this. I've taken to asking for these sorts of eco-options for xmas & my birthday -- it saves me from staring at the bill and dwelling on how much more I could buy if I slid a little and went with the toxic stuff.
