Really, very nice. The only reason I didn't give it a gold is because I can picture cat hair floating down into the food prep area as the cats lounge up above.

Wow! Cool. But why was it so expensive? Did you hire someone to craft and install it for you?

They're like kitty bookends.

Cool!! Nice that they have egress on both sides... Does the one side put them on top of the kitchen cabinets?? The width of the walk looks a tad narrow... Do they ever fall off? I would not have painted them bright yellow, but that's me. Great job!

Aha! Someone who deals with the reality that the cat wants to be on top of the kitchen cabinets anyway!

So inventive. It makes me want to go out and adopt a cat. Wow

$1500?? Are you sure you didn't mean $150?

Very cool and fun but too obtrusive for my taste.

Very cool. I must admit, though, that I'd be nervous my crazy cats would take flying leaps onto the pots and pans below them or knock down items from the cabinets above my head while I'm cooking. But then, my cats are still kittens and discovering the joys of knocking things off every surface they can find.

I think that instead of building expensive stairs for your cats you should clean and declutter your apartment.

If I had a cat or two I would certainly buy this! It's the perfect accouterment for the urban kitty.

I think our kittyloft deserves an explanation in terms of cost. We did NOT spend $1500 on this toy. We actually designed and built it. The price is an estimate of what it would cost if someone wanted a custom kittyloft designed and built for their apartment. You can build one yourself for $200 in materials if you have access to a woodshop.

P.S. Edina feel free to come and clean our apartment any time you want.

Your cats seem to adore this. I like the third pic in the link where the cats are facing the same way, hunkered down, and look like a couple of lumps. Someone coming into your place might not notice them up there at first if the kitties were snoozing.

Fantastic! Did your cats take to it immediately? I especially like that there are no visible supports...which begs the question: how did you fasten kittyloft to the walls?

I love the great design with its practical focus.... even though I don't have a pet, I could imagine that sculptural walkway meandering around the my living room near the 10 foot ceiling...it's worthy of notice as "functional art"!

Neat idea! I love your tin ceiling and woodwork, too.

I would love to find where they found and purchased that pot rack in their kitchen to hold their pots, pans and bowls. I have been searching for one for 3 months now with no luck. Anyone know?

Who cares about cat hair and I love the clutter! What a great idea! May I copy it for Angelo? He will be thrilled!

Would you custom-make one for me?

Who cares about cat hair in their food? You're nuts. Glad I'm not eating at your house!

Willy and MC, would you care to share any specs or advice so we can make our own version of your fantastic kitty loft?, thanks!

Tara I believe the rack is from Ikea. The hooks as well. Edina, the comment made about them cleaning her house was so rude!!! The focus is on the kittyloft. Unbelievable!! What tact!

I think this is a terrific idea! It could also be used as an unusual and creative bookshelf idea :) I love the kitties running around - I sent this to one of my friends who has 3 indoor cats and she said that it was definitely an idea they would consider for when they buy a single-story house. We've been joking about a kitty Habitrail built throughout a house (I think that would be too cool!) but this is an unusual idea that I never thought of.

Oh and Edina, after you're done Willy MC's place, mine needs some of your passion for uncluttered space.
